DES 2010

On behalf of the DH, NHS Employers has agreed with the British Medical Association (BMA) to roll forward the Extended Hours Directed Enhanced Service (DES) for another year, from 1 April 2010. GP practices will be expected to give an early indication to their PCTs whether they intend to take up this DES. In addition, the four clinical DESs previously due to come to an end on 31 March 2010 will continue for a further year, based on the same thresholds as in 2009-10.
